The Suburbs

Just because I mentioned the music blog I read, I decided to post about my current obsession band.

THE ARCADE FIRE!

It was a huge surprise that they won album of the year at the Grammy's considering some of the front runners were Eminem, Katy Perry and Lady Antabellum. The Arcade Fire are awesome and so fresh - see what I did there?? Hahaha, I had to have a laugh - But seriously The Arcade Fire represent everything that music is about. Their live performances are astounding, all the different sounds and instruments and elements of the performance. At the Grammy's when they won and ran right back onto stage to perform, my adrenaline was bursting. They are the embodiment of cool. Although the band looks as if they walked right out of a Tim Burton movie, they have their own look and image. They recently performed at the Juno's in Toronto and played their song Rococo. Let me tell you that is a phenomenal song. The incorporation of voices, drums, shakers, piano, and everything just makes this song seem eerie yet like a huge hit. I love when a song gets my heart beating faster and faster with the excitement of the sound. When the song hits 1.40 all the sounds coming together just works. There is no other way to describe it. I am obsessed with them. The entire album The Suburbs is sensational and the fact that they are independent artists from Montreal makes their cred so much more legit. How often do independent Canadian artists win Grammy's and beat out pop stars like Katy Perry?? Not very often.
Buy the album and put it on repeat! Also go on youtube and watch Rococo at the 2011 Juno's.

Serious Delay

It has been way too long. I've been suffocating in University life and the constant stream of never ending work that comes my way. Today is the day! Today is the the day I hand in my final essay before exams begin. In a month I will be into summer mode, except not really because I am taking a summer course. Mind you, I don't think ONE course will put a damper on my summer vacay.
I decided to write again when I started to read this absolutely horrible music blog where every comment was "the music is awesome" or "they sound fresh". Could you not think of something more profound to say? However, I believe peoples lack of insight into their own writing is simply melted down to the fact that they are either boring or really have nothing interesting to say. This seems somewhat funny coming from me considering I wrote a post about the vampire diaries and emma watson's style. We all have those moments and I still love both to death! Only one week until the return of Vampire Diaries after an entire month!!
All in all, I am hoping to post way more or else I might have to close this site entirely which doesn't seem appropriate with all the things I want and have to say.
New inspiration has come my way and am thinking about new ideas after this intense and thoughtful school year.
