Let me begin by saying that it is March. Last year at this time I am pretty sure it was still snowing and or raining. All I can say is that it was miserable and cold until about May. Everywhere you went you needed rain boots and an umbrella. I didn't get to venture out wearing a light weight jacket or even go sleeveless with sandals until the end of May. There I said it, I vented, I got it out. Come back to the present day. It is March 19 2012 and it is 20 degrees and with the sun it feels way warmer. Walking home I was sweating, my makeup felt like it was going to run off my face (sorry for the visual). On campus today there was an abundance of shorts, flip flops, and dresses. I know that weather is not a science but Wednesday it is supposed to be a high of 25 degrees and with humidity (which is always irrelevant, they should just include it in the temperature) 30 degrees. MARCH 19! Don't get me wrong I am definitely not complaining, I love this weather more than you would know. When I am trudging through a few feet of snow in the dead of winter, I imagine myself in shorts, wearing my birks and being sun burnt. When it got to 40 degrees Celsius last summer, I loved it. I may not have been able to breathe and the air was so thick with smog but I accept it. With that being said, I just happened to buy a pair of emerald green shorts on Friday night and I am kicking myself that I didn't bring them with me. I try not to buy into trend too much, as they are a trend and they go out of style. I always try to stick with more classic looks and pieces and buy small items in trendy colours and styles. The big thing right now is pastel and bright hues. I find both quite appropriate for spring and summer, as they are fresh and so are the two seasons. A great way to add the pastel/bright colours into your wardrobe this summer is through a dress and or shorts. Generally when it comes to those colours in the spring/summer months, they never go out of style. Here is a great option in terms of fun and functional shorts. J Brand: 1046 Short- Blue Bonnet
