Modelling clothing

As a young woman clothes are my thing. I love shopping, I love fashion, I love what every season brings and what I will wear. I look at every website lookbooks and what they are showing as their must have pieces. I make a list of all the things I want to get and how much they are going to cost. One of my must have go to staple clothiers is Aritzia. I love everything about the store, the atmosphere, the culture, the clothing, and just about everything! What I dislike about the company is that they use string bean models to show their pieces. Their lookbooks and catalogues are filled with images of abnormal giants that make the clothing look shapeless and boring. I'd rather see a real person modelling the clothing versus someone who really doesn't suit the style. In the past couple of months I noticed on their catalogue site they were adding pictures of celebrities wearing the different pieces. Now, I am making no claim that celebrities mimic a real life body shape, but more realistic in height and weight than a 6 foot something model. I've come to the conclusion that i'd rather see a celebrity wearing the clothes, than a shapeless model. I want to see how the dresses, jeans, shirts, sweaters, cardigans, etc will look on someone with an average height. I may be thin, but I am not 6 feet tall and my legs aren't as high as a skyscraper. When I look at jeans on a model it doesn't give an accurate view of how they will and could appear on someone with a little more shape. I know that a lot of models are "size" models, however, I do not see the accuracy in that. There is no defining line and no variety. If companies were to use various sizes and shapes of models (not even just celebrities), they could potentially do better in sales. Opening doors to many more people who see the product as real to themselves. Overall, the image of a tall model in clothing I may or may not wear is not realistic. I do not view what the model is wearing as how it will look on myself. I instead click through google images of celebrities wearing the clothes and how it rests of their bodies. Although their has been an ongoing feud between model size and who uses which type of models, I think there is a turning point in the fashion industry where people are sick of this unrealistic view of the woman's body. Celebrities are being used more and more as models and spokes people for companies because their body shapes vary in size and shape(as well as notoriety) I hope this path will continue and clothing modelled will be more accurate to the image of a woman or man. Nikki Reed wearing TNA the Newport Raglan in Heather Tarred and Sarah Clarke wearing the TNA canvas maverick bomber in dark shadow.
